PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Lead Engineer, Optical Systems.

  • Participated in design and testing of the optical part of Polarization Mode Dispersion Compensator (PMDC) for 10Gb/s.
  • Performed customer interactions (laboratory trials) on 10Gb/s PMDC.
  • Set-up and operated system level test laboratory for PMDC performance evaluation.
  • Studied properties of PMD in fiber, particularly statistics and correlation between first and second order PMD.
  • Set-up and operated initial 40Gb/s test bed.
  • Designed and tested intial 40Gb/s PMDC prototype.

  • Set-up and operate high-speed (up to 40Gb/s) device and subsystem prototype testing lab.
  • Design and high-speed testing of 40Gb/s Electroabsorption Modulator  (chip and package).
  • Design, characterization and system evaluation of transmitter for WDM systems based on simultaneous laser wavelength locking and spectral filtering using Fiber Bragg gratings.
  • Design and testing of 10Gb/s Integrated Electroabsorption Modulated Laser (chip and package).
  • Experimental study of Interferometric Intensity Noise in CATV systems.
  • Design, analytical, and experimental study of InGaAsP/InP DFB lasers for CATV systems.
  • Design of computer controlled test and measurement systems for optical component and sub-system characterization (Labview, QuickBasic, C).

  • Experimental study of electro-optical properties of InGaAsP/InP Electroabsorption Modulators.
  • Design and testing of uncooled Fabry-Perot InGaAsP/InP lasers.
  • Study of electro-optical properties of InGaAsP/InP lasers. Developed and used new experimental techniques for measurements of various physical parameters determining the operating characteristics of semiconductor lasers (optical gain measurements, optical loss measurements, carrier lifetime measurements).
  • Design of computer controlled test and measurement systems for characterization of optoelectronic devices (HP Basic).
